Bank of Scotland Funding
MENSELF + BOOSTED BY £20,000 OF FUNDING
Glasgow‑based charity MENSELF + has secured an unrestricted grant of £20,000 from the Bank of Scotland Foundation’s Energise funding programme, our second consecutive year receiving this support.
Founded in 2015, MENSELF + supports men, women and their families in and around the Parkhead area and across Glasgow.
We currently provide activities, opportunities and support for around 125 people every week, helping them access social, community, leisure and recreational activities of their choosing.
With the cost‑of‑living crisis affecting both mental health and household income, this funding means we can continue delivering a wide range of programmes, overseen by our Coordinator, ensuring people can maintain a better quality of life through ongoing access to support and activities.
Jim Malcolmson, Coordinator, said: “We are delighted to receive this grant from the Bank of Scotland Foundation’s Energise Programme again. Knowing we can retain our services is a huge relief. The work we do is vital in ensuring adults remain involved in the community and get the chance to enjoy themselves.”
Donald MacKechnie, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, said: “We are delighted to award MENSELF + £20,000 in funding. The cost‑of‑living crisis means many charities are struggling with increasing expenditure at a time when demand for their services is greater than ever. Our grant awards will help charities through the challenging months ahead.”
